Ask HN: What is the commute from Seattle to Redmond like?

I'll soon be working for a large company near Redmond (guess) and I'll need to decide whether to live in Seattle or right next to the company. The main deciding factor is the commute; I've never had to commute for more than 20 minutes so I don't have a feel for how good/bad a longer commute everyday would be like. Avoiding the commute (and probably higher cost of living) is nice, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the many benefits of living in Seattle (such as the social life there).
