Ask HN: Have you used a cloud service differently than the way it was intended?

AWS, Azure and GCP all provide many services. Using one service in lieu of the other may sometimes offer unexpected savings. Of course, it may not always be the norm. For example, the other day, I found a cool hack to use Cloudwatch logging for event tracking and analytics for my webapp. Anyone have any other experiences?
