How can we as software developers use our privilege to help black people?
Other than these useless protests, one of the things I'm doing is not calling the police on any black person I see committing a crime. It's a death sentence. Also any black person I interact with in a professional setting will get my full attention and effort because now I know how little help they receive from our government.
1) The protests are not useless. They clearly are gathering attention, including YOURS.
2) You should give people your full attention regardless
3) Donate money to civil rights organizations if you actually want to make a difference.
So basically what you intend to do is to treat them like they are children with no accountability. That will surely help them raise to the level of white people.
Honestly your post feels like trolling. And if it isn't, get out of your bubble, for your own sake.

Black people are not more likely to be killed in an arrest than white people. I understand that you can now be fired and kicked out of polite society for saying that, but that doesn't means its not true.
