YouTube demonetizes David Dobrik’s channels over sexual assault allegations

  • In my country, there is a procedure for de-baring a Lawyer from the roll-call of the Supreme Court. - Lawyer MUST be convicted by a criminal court of competent Jurisdiction for a crime. - The conviction must not have been overturned on appeal. - The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee, brings an action before the Bar Association to de-bar the lawyer.

This strenuous and enlongated process is what is needed to stop a person from practicing a profession and I’m sure this procedure is similar for most common law countries. The reason for this process is to make sure that the crime has been proven beyond reasonable doubt.

In a situation where a mere allegation (until proven in court, it’s an allegation), can deprive a person of his livelihood, where private companies act as Judge, Jury and Executioner, we should be very very afraid.

If you’re in the U.S, do something about these. Send letters to your reps. Do everything to ensure private companies do not become courts of singular jurisdiction. Let the legal principle of “Audi alteram partem” not die in silence.

  • Who's Youtube to decide this? Man this is getting ridiculous.

Some pampered people there in SV need some drilling in their heads, to remind them they aren't judges on anything.
