Chad Strings – The Chad way to handle strings in C

  • As a serious response, if you're looking for a good string library, look up RapidString. I've used it to great effect for a few years now. The original owner disappeared so there are only a number of surviving forks, but the code is clear, fast and Just Works.

  • Lots of reserved identifiers in that header. In C, identifiers starting with two underscores, or an underscore and a capital letter, are reserved.

So the only safe place to use this is if you're developing a libc and/or a C compiler, or an OS including those.

  • The real issue of course with this isn't the memes, it is that it is licensed GPL v3.0.

I don't think many people are going to use it because of that.

  • This project needs a Chad code of conduct.

  • "Computer tells him where to start counting"

    Haha, fantastic.

  • Chad here. I use Go

  • I also like how the only other contributor is also called Chad.

  • > uses system calls

    Absolute chadman.

  • What. The. Fuck.

    Amazing.

  • I fully approve of this.

  • sigh

    -chad

  • Russian hacker did this

  • This is a super nice library, but I can't see using it in a professional context because of the toxic meme.
