US Lawmakers Suggest That Piracy Is Part of Twitter’s Business Model
The lawmakers say 'Creative content drives engagement on Twitter' but having been on the platform almost since it was set up, I have never watched a whole music video there. Most videos are either embeds of content from Youtube, or short clips of 10 or 20 seconds. Celebrities are big on Twitter because they interact directly with their fans.
I'm at a loss as to what piracy they're referring to. People uploading videos where they are pointing at something silly on their TV screen? Brief sport moments? All that seems to fall squarely within fair use.
