Yes, eventually. But you know what’s bad for the environment? Recycling programs. More trucks driving around picking up waste that most likely can’t be recycled, and when it is, results in more energy costs. It’s a nice thought, but recycling is just a bad implementation and it needs to go away. Just sequester the carbon in the ground/landfill. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

We need to power them with “clean” energy and have a good recycling/reuse program for the battery.

Anyway also moving the pollution from the city to where energy is produced is a small (but not decisive) improvement.
