Am I the only one thinking it's a little bit absurd that the official Ubuntu docs recommend against Anti-Virus software because "Linux viruses are so rare that you don’t really need to worry about them"?

I mean, obviously Anti-Virus software doesn't guarantee jack-sh*t but a reasoning of "Linux viruses aren't that common" seems weird. It's like saying that OS X cannot be affected by malware IMHO.
