Ideology as Biology
I appreciated this careful look at the legacy of E.O. Wilson and his sociobiology by historians who actually bothered to study his archive to adjudicate some of the claims that have been made about Wilson since his death, both by detractors and supporters. I decided to post it here because there were some previous submissions that got a lot of comments, many of which were supportive of Wilson.

The writers of this piece conclude that, though Wilson made many important contributions, hagiohraphic accounts fail to address important flaws and mistakes he made, particular with regard to the sociobiology he advocated.
