I get it the wealthy nations are sending their waste to poorer nations but the wealthy nations are getting a lot of plastic from the countries that manufacture the goods in the form of plastic packaging in the first place.

We need to stop the plastic at the source, manufacturing countries, rather than to dispose of the packaging after we get the products delivered. It's not all the waste but it would have a big impact on the amount of waste created.
