Arm China finally boots rogue CEO that's held it hostage with a 'chop' for years
All this does is underline the risk and danger to "free market" enterprise attempting to operate in China's "hybrid" economic system.
Internally, China is dictatorial and communist. Externally, it is quasi-capitalist. Any successful result within is based entirely on the whim and control of government --- as in this case.
The same could be said of the west but to a lesser degree. The rules and institutions in place in the west generally offer much greater "free market" independence and afford government significantly less opportunity (and need) to control outcomes.
