Why dating apps don’t work

  • Not really sure how to think about that post.

Along one dimension, it says they "don't work". Is it safe to generalize when, in fact, lots of people successfully met the "love of their life" on some dating site?

Some sites are, in fact, $99/month (or more), others are free. It's not even clear to me that price is a measure of success. It might be along one dimension: if you're wealthy enough to pay $99/month, then that already says something about you (not sure what, btw).

As a retired computer scientist, I met a working computer engineer at a free dating site - that was 10 years ago. Is 10 years long enough to mark the event of meeting her as a success? I don't even know that.
