Twitter Can Detect Screenshots

  • The fact apps can prevent you from taking screenshots on mobile is one of biggest symptoms of everything that is wrong with this closed ecosystem.

Second position being that you have the concept of 'rooting' a phone to get it in the state you have your regular computer in.

Of course, with MS pushing more and more restrictive booting conditions for windows and DRM getting in everything, even FOSS, this is only going to get worse.

  • Operating systems shouldn't let apps detect screenshots without the user's permission. (And they shouldn't let apps distinguish between not being granted this permission and the user just never taking any screenshots.)

  • Hasn’t screenshot detection been a key feature of Snapchat for many years, possibly even since inception?

  • > That's why some users are seeing a "Share Tweet?" pop-up whenever the Twitter app notices them taking a screenshot.

Don't use the app. Problem solved.

  • Snapchat and Instagram (currently only disappearing ) tell the other person if you screenshot -

I don't know apps could do this.
