Ask HN: How do you determine the popularity of a NPM package?

Do you determine the popularity by download count, number of stars, or any other indicator?

Some time these two numbers doesn't match. For example react-router-native has twice as many stars as @react-navigation/native, but its download count is only a fraction of @react-navigation/native
