AI vs. Blood Mouse – Disney, AI Art, and Copyright [video]
The 15-minute video covers the consequences of so-called "ethical AI", which is giant corporations such as Disney, with IP hoards big enough to train AI models, get to use the technology unhindered, while for individuals it becomes prohibitively expensive or outright illegal. This is supported by the Copyright Alliance (members including Disney, Paramount, and the RIAA) lobbying for expanding copyright to cover AI models and their output. They're also running astroturf campaigns to trick independent artists into supporting their position, while on the other side lobbying politicians for these copyright expansions, and working to create enforcement systems, such as upload filters and content provenance verification schemes [1].
