Tiny countries are getting rich off their domains

  • Unfortunately, this is a real gold-rush type situation, and I think that parties on both sides of this transaction should not consider the situation to be very stable.

    It's well-known that sometimes nations reclaim the ccTLD for their own purposes, with a resulting rug-pull to the registrants. Having your domain name suddenly change is bad for business, it goes without saying.

    And is this a steady, guaranteed income stream for the registrar? How long can they count on all accounts remaining current? Is AI a bucket of empty hype, or an enduring investment opportunity? Time will tell.
