Do majority of humans need AGI?

It seems the future of humanity is being decided by a bunch of folks with GPU.

AGI will have a potential to disrupt ordinary daily lives of humanity and other animals. It may have lots of undesirable effects on other humans.

Most humans might not even like the GPU folks consider cool.

So the question is who gets to decide the comfortable future of our children and grandchildren?

    Today we just passed 2C of warming. So possibly we very much do need AGI.

    As per my understanding AGI is general intelligence that can replace and outsmart humans in so many roles.
