The Controversial Sound Only 2% of People Hear [video]
I hear a very distinct hum where I live, but none of my neighbors do. I don't hear it all of the time, but fairly regularly. It sounds like maybe trucks on an interstate highway a few miles away, but it's way too consistent for that. I'm in New Mexico ~250 miles southwest of Taos, a few miles from a dormant volcano. So I've wondered if it could be underground magma flow.
It doesn't cause anxiety, nausea, etc., for me, just minor annoyance. Covering my ears doesn't reduce it. I wouldn't consider moving because of it, but if I knew about it before buying a home here I might not have. Just like the video describes I only hear it in my house late at night. I've wondered if there is some kind of recording equipment that could record it.
It's still possibly all in my head.
