Tell HN: iOS 18 heic pictures are difficult to convert

How hard should it be to convert an heic picture to jpeg? There's no out of box solution in Ubuntu 24 LTS, the libheif library for 24 LTS and older Ubuntu versions fails to convert heic pictures. https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/issues/1190

I am not blaming libheif author, however I am left a little bit frustrated that this simple task requires developer expertise!

    Can't you just do it on the phone? I don't actually know I am asking it's not a leading question. I would assume that there is a legacy export of some sort.
