I feel like I was all super excited for the cool new electric car word and ... stuff like this really turns me off.

If only we owned our cars, then we could unlock their features at no cost.

This kind of abhorrent practice is one of the things that turns me off to a whole lot of different products. Now I know I won't be buying a Rivian, too.

The performance upgrade, fine. I get it. I don't like it. But I get it.

But the more range upgrade? You're kidding. So they locked some battery modules behind a software upgrade. Meanwhile, without the upgrade, your car is literally carrying these useless batteries around, which decrease efficiency.
