AeroFS (YC S10) is Hiring Front End, Back End, Desktop, and iOS Engineers
AeroFS (S10) is building a private-cloud file syncing and collaboration tool.
Our customers range from Enterprises to consumers, with one common theme: They all care a lot about the privacy and security of their data.
Our team is small (there are about a dozen of us today) and we're hiring. Because AeroFS touches almost every layer in the technology stack, you will have the opportunity to work on both incredibly low-level and high-level problems. Because of the size of our team you will be "CEO" of whatever you create.

1. Senior Software Engineer:

You will have the opportunity to work across the entire backend and our desktop-client. Our projects range widely across the entire software stack, and you will have the ability to choose from a variety of interesting and challenging projects based on your own interests
Skills & Requirements
- Highly scalable server architectures
- Networking and Distributed Systems
- Database background is a plus
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D., in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of either C++ or Java
(Shell Scripting and Objective-C are a great bonus)
- Familiarity with the UNIX working environment
2. iOS Engineering Lead:

We have a Windows, Mac, and Linux client. We have an Android client. What we unfortunately don't have is an iOS client. We're looking for a developer with deep experience in iOS to help bring AeroFS to the iOS platform. iOS is one of the most requested missing features for AeroFS (both in the enterprise, and in the consumer world), and we need your help to deliver a great experience on it!
Skills & Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Objective-C, Cocoa, and iOS Frameworks
- Experience developing high-quality production iOS Applications
- B.S, M.S, or Ph.D., in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
or equivalent
- 2+ Years of experience in design and development of
iOS mobile applications
- Experience developing custom UI elements
- Expert knowledge of objected-oriented programming
- Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts
- Familiarity with the UNIX working environment

3. Front-End Engineer:
----------------------
Increasingly, more and more of our components have web-functionality and web tie-ins. We realize that going forward, the web is going to be one of the most important components within the AeroFS ecosystem, and we'd like to make sure we have the best engineers working on it.
Skills & Requirements
- Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- UI Design knowledge
- Experience developing high-quality production web applications
- B.S, M.S, or Ph.D., in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, or equivalent
- Proficiency with Python in an established web framework
(e.g. Flask, Django)
- Experience developing custom UI elements, proficiency with
Photoshop or similar software
- Strong knowledge of objected-oriented programming
- Familiarity with the UNIX working environment
